Does VERISIGN Public DNS Service Block Malicious Websites?

I wonder if your DNS service blocks certain websites deemed malicious or of poor reputation similar to Norton Safe Connect which I abandoned recently? I read the FAQ but it does not mention if VeriSign Public DNS service filters "bad" sites.

  • Dear customer,
We will check it and get back to you. Thanks for your patience.
  • Hello COUPON4Vitamins,

We received confirmation that Verisign Public DNS does not filter for "bad" sites. We hope this answers your question, but please let us know if otherwise.

    Thank you.

  • if we serve DNS via Windows 2012 Active Directory, should we change the DNS settings at the server/AD level for Verisign public DNS integration?
  • Hello Tapetrone,

I am unable to see your current configuration, but you should be able to launch the DNS Manager. From there, you will need to view the properties under your DNS server and look for the "Forwarders" tab. Next you'll need to click the "Edit" button and add our Public DNS IPs (64.6.64.6 & 64.6.65.6).

    Best Regards,
    Jody
